The 3rd edition of Rails Girls Luxembourg took place on 12th November at the Forum Geesseknäppchen.
Around fifty participants were introduced to programming and created their first mobile application.
The girls and women attending had the chance to discover basic concepts of programmation & write their first lines of code. To do this, they were guided by 17 volunteer coaches and organisers. This year the youngest person in attendance was 13-year-old.
Following the success of this event, a regular saturday coding learning group was set up to continue the learning journey and get peer to peer support. Many women also confirmed that the workshop had strengthened their confidence to work in technology companies but also to create their own start-ups.
Rails Girls was organized by WIDE (Women in Digital Initiatives Asbl) with the support of the Media Communication Service – Ministry of State, Digital Luxembourg & the National Youth Service (SNJ)
