Women and Artists have been and are still strongly impacted by the current crisis. The digital sphere could be a source of resilience for them.
For this reason, WIDE has designed a programme dedicated specifically for women creatives, together with the support of the US Embassy in Luxembourg.
Curiosity and willingness to learn new skills can help to seize the opportunities in the digital field.
Therefore, we offer 12 women the chance to discover the basics of programming and web development as well as digital and generative art.
Digital and generative art is a type of art that is created using digital technology. This type of art can be created using a computer or other digital device, and often involves the use of algorithms or code to create the artwork. It can be done manually, with the help of software and in a variety of ways, depending on the method used.
Coding can be used not only to get and grow online visibility through the creation of a website or platform, reaching large audiences and expanding an entrepreneur’s business. But it can also be used to create a new kind of art and new approach to express creativity in current technology through algorithms, digital devices etc.
Some common techniques used in digital and generative art include: drawing and painting on screens with a mouse, stylus, or finger, using software to create designs or images, generating images or patterns with code, manipulating photos and videos or editing sound files.
